For reference, we suggest some of the good fields :

Electronics and Communication Engineering

In current days Electronics and Communication Engineering has a very high demand by the students. It covers 50% syllabus of Computer Science, Information Technology , Communication Engineering and other 50% of Electronics. A EC engineer can easily find jobs in many private and government companies including of Core companies.

Computer Science Engineering

It is a field which has overtaken the traditional branches. Now even core branches like electrical and mechanical rely on Computers for software to help with design and other aspects. You must have heard of AUTOCAD and MATLAB. Recently Facebook offered an IIT graduate 1,50,000 dollars as a placement. Job scope in Computer Science is very high and demand of computer science engineers is very high in the market. Most of the IITS and AIEEE Toppers have choosen computer science as their first choice.

Mechanical Engineering

Mechanical engineers are found in almost all sections of engineering. A Mechanical Engineer can work in Machine based industries and also work in computer hardware and software industries, Petroleum Industries, Electronics Industries and Electrical Industries, Aircraft Industries and any other industry as they will require a mechanical engineer to design and maintain their machines for their improved production. so Mechanical Engineering is a evergreen branch of engineering.

Civil Engineering

Civil engineering is a very old branch of Engineering and is also said as "Father of Engineering" by some people. But the civil does not provides much job opportunities in comparison to Computer Science, Electronics and Mechanical. But civil engineers have a large number of government jobs  in comparison to Computer Science, Mechanical and other branches.

 Electrical and Electronics Engineering

Electronics and electrical is a combination of electrical and electronics. This branch mainly deals with the electric power and machinery, application of circuits and design, integrated circuits, communication and control system. In this field there are many government and private sector jobs are available. But students find this branch very much boring.

Aeronautical Engineering

Aeronautical Engineering is not too much famous in India but it is very famous in foreign countries. It deals with aerodynamics, structural design, radar system, navigation and communication. This branch has a good scope in future.

Chemical Engineering

Chemical engineering also does not hold good position in India as very less number of colleges offer this branch in India. Chemical engineers have a great scope in the field of production and are paid a handsome salary.

Some New Branches in the field of Engineering :

Bio Chemical Engineering

Nano Science and Technology

Petroleum Engineering

Audio and Instrumental Engineering

Nuclear Engineering

Biomedical Engineering

Sanitary Engineering

Military Engineering
